Foreign Entrepreneurs & E-2 Investors

Accounting and
Tax Services for
Foreign Entrepreneurs

Establish your U.S. business with confidence, with a CPA firm experienced in serving E-2 visa investors. We help entrepreneurs from abroad set up reliable accounting, stay on top of U.S. tax obligations, and build a strong financial foundation, from launch through growth.

What we help you set up

Your U.S. accounting partner

Launching in the U.S. takes
more than capital and customers

Entrepreneurs who come to the United States must also set up reliable accounting systems, understand federal and state tax obligations, keep accurate financial records, and plan for sustainable growth. The rules can look very different from those at home.

Our CPA-led team works with foreign entrepreneurs who are establishing, acquiring, or operating U.S. businesses, including clients operating under E-2 visa arrangements. Our goal is to be your ongoing accounting and tax partner year-round, not only at tax time.

Working with your immigration attorney. We provide accounting, tax compliance, and financial advisory services. Immigration legal advice, E-2 eligibility opinions, and legal entity formation are handled by qualified attorneys. We are glad to coordinate with your counsel.

How it works

From first call to monthly
reports in about two weeks

1

DAY 1

Initial consultation

We learn about your business, ownership, where the owners live for tax purposes, and your plans in the U.S.

2

DAYS 1-3

Engagement letter

You receive a clear written scope with included services, fees, and deadlines before any work begins. Any additional work is quoted and agreed in writing first.

3

DAYS 2-4

Secure document upload

You share only the documents we need, such as formation records, EIN letter, and prior returns, through our secure client portal.

4

DAYS 4-6

Tax and accounting assessment

We identify your filing obligations, payroll and sales tax needs, and any international reporting that may apply.

5

DAYS 6-10

Accounting setup

We configure QuickBooks, connect your bank feeds, and set up a chart of accounts built for your type of business.

6

EVERY MONTH

Ongoing reporting

We reconcile your accounts and deliver monthly financial statements on an agreed schedule, once your records are in.

E-2 is an immigration
status, not a tax status

Your visa does not decide how you are taxed. Your tax obligations depend on your days of presence in the U.S., how your business is structured, who owns it, and where your income comes from.

We review each owner’s situation individually so nothing is missed.

Common questions

What we review for foreign-
owned businesses

It depends. Owners may be U.S. tax residents, nonresident aliens, or dual-status taxpayers in
a given year. We look at the substantial presence test, available exceptions, and
any tax treaty that may apply.

That depends on whether your business is taxed as a sole proprietorship, partnership, or corporation, and on whether any owners are foreign persons. We map out your federal and Florida filing requirements and add them to your filing calendar.

A foreign-owned single-member U.S. LLC may need to file Form 5472 with a pro forma Form 1120 when certain conditions are met. Foreign-owned corporations have different requirements. We determine what applies based on your actual facts.

Depending on your business, these may include the annual report filed with the Florida Division of Corporations (Sunbiz), sales and use tax registration, reemployment tax for employers, corporate income tax for C corporations, and a local business tax receipt. We add the ones that apply to your filing calendar.

Beneficial ownership reporting rules changed in 2025, and foreign entities registered to do business in the U.S. may still have reporting requirements. We review the current rules for your company as part of your assessment.

Some owners have FBAR or other foreign financial account reporting requirements. Whether these apply depends on your residency status and account balances. We review this as part of your assessment.

If you hire employees or pay contractors, you may have employment tax filings, Forms W-9 to collect, and Forms 1099 to issue. We help you set these up correctly from the start.

Many business owners and corporations must pay estimated taxes during the year. We can help you determine whether payments are required and plan for them.

Elite Accounting & Consulting provides accounting, tax, and financial advisory services and does not provide immigration or legal advice. Immigration matters, E-2 eligibility, and legal entity formation should be addressed with a qualified attorney. Tax and reporting obligations depend on each client’s facts and current law. Listed fees are starting points; final fees are confirmed in a written engagement letter.
